This project by Derrek Powell explores the sociolinguistics of reggaetón through an interactive multimedia atlas of vocal performance. Drawing on annotated musical examples and empirical research, the project examines how artists use pronunciation, rhythm, lexis, sound, and style to construct social meaning, musical personae, and genre identity.
